Lagerfeld…The Man That Does It All!
This is the beauty of being a notable designer, your career starts as just designing clothes and is able to expand into fields you could have never imagined. Karl Lagerfeld is a perfect example of showing how a natural-born creative can translate in all fields. First Cocoa Cola bottles, and now Orrefors glassware. Let’s not give Mr. Lagerfeld all of the attention. Orrefors, an already well-respected company is known for producing unique and sophisticated pieces, and thanks to this video I realized the craftsmanship it takes to create glassware. At least 15 different people are a part of the production process for each piece (glassblowers, cutters, painters, engravers…), a skill that takes so much time and detail is always fascinating to me. I love how he says “Plastic cups, it should not be in your home…” If you can be spoiled like Lagerfeld, the collab collection is set to hit stores and available online early September.
